Chief complaint when I started:
Permanently crippled with debilitating disease (Advanced Ankylosing Spondylitis) and in excruciating pain.
1. Needed to take a 45 minute whirlpool in order to walk
2. Inability to stand or walk for more than 5 minutes
3. Unable to sleep laying down
4. Morphine required to sleep because of pain
5. Frequent severe asthmatic attacks
6. Continuous severe migraine
7. High blood pressure
8. Medical doctors could only prescribe painkillers no other treatments available for my condition
Experience while here at office:
My treatment has been ongoing for years because of the nature of the disease, which tends to get worse over time. The staff and Doctor Grice have been extremely supportive and dedicated over the years to helping me improve. Everyone at the office has gone beyond what anyone could be expected to do for a patient.
How Chiropractic has helped me:
Pain levels have been significantly reduced and no drugs are necessary to control pain such as morphine. I can sleep laying down. I can sleep between 4 and 7 hours before awakening from pain versus 15 minutes previously. I can walk or stand approximately 20 to 30 minutes. Migraine headaches have been curtailed. Asthmatic attacks are rare. Blood pressure levels are excellent. I would be a total invalid or have died because of complications from high blood pressure or severe asthmatic condition if not treated by Dr Grice.

Both of my children were continually getting ear infections. I discussed the situation with Dr. Grice and he said that he could help the situation. He said, ear infections were from an accumulation of fluid in the ear caused from a blockage. He said, buy adjusting behind the ear the ear canal would open up allowing the fluid to drain. Both my children had ear infections and I trusted Dr. Grice so I brought them up to see him. My daughter fell in love right away with Dr. Grice. He adjusted her behind the ear and told me to put a little warm olive oil in the ear to help with the irritation. I took her home she took not even a two hour nap and when she woke it was like nothing ever happened. She honest to God was fine, after being up with this child all night long I just couldn’t believe it. My daughter Haley has had only one other ear infection since then. Which Dr. Grice worked his magic and soon enough she was fine once again. My daughter loves Dr. Grice so much that once we were all coming up for an adjustment, but the waiting room was so busy patients were standing (very usual). So my husband and I decided to turn around and come back the next day. My daughter actually broke down and started to cry, she absolutely adores him and talks about him all the time. Dr, Grice has also helped my son with the same type of infections. My whole family thinks the world of Dr. Grice and his staff.

In November of 2000, I was in a car accident in which I was hit from behind while stopped at a traffic light. As a result of the impact, I suffered severe headaches, neck & back pain and pain that went down my arms & legs. The headaches were so severe that the pain would go from the back of my head up to my forehead, making me nauseous and unable to function for ten to twelve hours at a time. The headaches were unbearable. I went to my PCP, physical therapy, a neurologist, and a pain clinic. After many disappointments I finally resigned myself that I would have to live with this horrible pain. I woke up with headaches everyday and pain in the back of my head and neck even after almost six years had passed, I suffered from not only the physical effects, but the emotional distress of not being able to pursue the career I was qualified to do.
A friend of mine had similar pain & recommended Grice Chiropractic. After some time, I finally made an appointment. It was the best thing that I could have done. Within weeks, my headaches were subsiding, along with the pain in my neck. I immediately began to get more active and realize that I no longer had to live with pain. My name is Hanna and I am 15 years old. I started coming to Grice Chiropractic in March of 2006. I have been suffering from severe headaches and cramps on a monthly basis since I was about 11 years old. Sometimes my pain was so bad that I would stay in bed for the day. I was missing out on a lot of different experiences because of the pain. My Primary Care Physician did not want to look in to my problems when I addressed them to him a few times, but he wanted to put me on medication. Then for my headaches my Dentist thought they were from my wisdom teeth causing pressure so I had them removed in February of 2006, but I still suffered from the headaches. Then my Grandfather reminded me of how chiropractic care helped him over come his colitis 6 years ago and he is fine to this day. I only been going for about 3 months now, but with every visit my pain seems to decrease. I rarely have any cramps and I get few headaches. My results are great and I am able to go through a day with out a splitting headache or nauseating cramps. I am glad I have had the opportunity to go to Grice Chiropractic. It also helps that Dr. Grice and his wonderful staff are all very warm and welcoming and make you feel comfortable.

When my son Blake was 3 weeks old he was diagnosed with sleep apnea. Every time he would sleep he would fall into such a deep sleep that he would forget to breathe. His doctors put him on an apnea monitor that he wore all day. If he would stop breathing for 20 seconds the monitor would start beeping to notify me and I would then wake him or startle him enough that he would catch his breath. I brought him to see Dr. Grice. After his 1st adjustment, that day, I noticed improvement. From then, Blake was adjusted 2-3 times per week and he would breath normally throughout his days and nights. If I had missed or needed to change an appointment, even for one day, the monitor would alarm numerous times per night. Just after his 1st Birthday, he grew out of the apnea. I have faith that Dr. Grice assisted in Blake’s recovery from his condition. Now Blake plays football for the Brookline Knights and we maintain his chiropractic care, with as well as the care for my other two sons, my husband, and myself. I am very grateful for everyone at Grice Chiropractic and how our lives have benefited because of them.
